What is a “Lifestyle”

“The habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic levels, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group.”

…Now let’s take a moment to think about that definition and what it means to you. To help better understand it, let me ask you a question. Use each word above to fill in the blank.

What________do you have, that you consider part of a healthy lifestyle?

Do you practice a healthy lifestyle to where you can answer that question using every word?

Honestly, probably no one can, (including myself), but it’s not something to get discouraged over. Make yourself aware that every aspect of a healthy lifestyle is important! Just like the parts of the body. *And the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the ear says, “I am not part of the body because I am not an eye,” would that make it any less part of the body? (…no) If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear anything? (…you wouldn’t) Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything? (…you couldn’t) In fact, some parts of our lifestyle that seem the weakest and least important are actually the most necessary (…like our body parts working together in unison).

Do you have a good habit of keeping your home tidy, but are quick to anger at work or with family? Do you have a healthy spiritual lifestyle, but your body’s physical lifestyle is unhealthy and overweight? Do you have high moral standards for yourself? Did you know that having high moral standards for yourself are part of a healthy lifestyle? (Yes, they are.)

Not all of these questions may apply to you, just simply ask yourself this question and reflect.

Do I live a healthy lifestyle, and how can I advance it?

    Hi Jose,
    Hope you’re having a blessed day. There are a lot of close minded people in this world. They live in a box, only looking at what is on the outside and not the inside. These same people are unhappy througthout their life, and those that have children, try to pass it to their kids. That’s why we live in a fat and unhealthy world. We have alot of work to do here.

      Hey brother. My day has been quite blessed. I hope the same has been for yours as well. Thank you for taking the time to reply. Those of us who are here to serve, and help this world, do have our work cut out for us. However, people like you, who recognize a problem, and taking active steps in helping, are just the type of people that will bring a change into this world for the better. Day by day, person by person!

    As far as your topic it is a balance. I can count good habits and bad on the same hand so that makes me break even training wise.

    Over all we have more good than bad so that makes us better off overall.

      I’m glad that you have broken even with good habits and bad habits on one hand…but what happened to the other hand? JK 😉
